SIRMIONE AND THE LAKE

Sirmione, the pearl of Garda lake, is a place of entrainment and poetry. It is admired and known since ancient times, tourism destination for Romans and subject of poems and songs.
It offers a lot of attractions for people that want to start an unforgettable adventure or people looking for relax or culture.
So people who love culture can visit the Grotte di Catullo, vestiges of a large Roman villa inside an archeological park with panoramic lake view; the Rocca Scaligera, San Pietro Mavino Church and Palazzo Callas, this is intended for exhibitions and events.
In the centre of Sirmione there is also Villa Callas, belonged to the famous manager Giovan Battista Meneghini, Maria Callas’ husband, the famous opera singer. She loved spending her holidays in the charming village Sirmione. Unfortunately Villa Callas is not allowed to the public.

From the shores of Garda Lake is easy to reach, by car or by boat, the Vittoriale degli Italiani, home of the writer D’Annunzio, the nice Isola del Garda, the San Martino e Solferino Tower, the Fondazione Ugo da Como, the Castles of Arco, Drena and the Rocca di Riva del Garda, the Arena in Verona and its opera performances.

The more adventurous people can have fun in the play ground like Gardaland and Sealife, Caneva World, the Jungle Adventure park, the zoo Safari Natura Viva or in the one of the many water parks in the surroundings.
Or you can rent motorboats with or without driver, sailboat or trek, rent bikes or other water activities like surfboard, kite surf, water skiing or canoeing.
Nature lovers will benefit the natural parks on the Garda Lake, they can visit botanical gardens of Parco Sigurtà and Heller Garden or waterfalls of Varone and Molina, tha valley of Cartiere, and the panoramic Monte Baldo or the breathtaking view of Tremosine.
Those wishing to relax, can indulge in the warm sulphurous water of Terme of Sirmione or in thermal lakes of Colà di Lazise, they can also relax in one of the many golf courses in the green morenic hills.
